Hi Scott, noticed your from Heber, nice area!

This means they can't get the port density that they need to make DSL cost effective in these locations. (Recently the same tech indicated that a fix has been designed, but it will take time to roll out.)

That's good news, for them. If they don't start these upgrades they may find themselves far behind @Home cable service if TCI pulls it off. I've noticed that areas around Sandy can now get ISDN so it sounds like they are working on those issues.

3. Call TCI! If you visit tci.net and go to the link to "Contact TCI" you can call their 888 phone number (or e-mail) and get on the list. TCI has said that if enough people request service in the Salt Lake City area they might have cable modems working by the end of the year. ;-)

Thanks, I visited the web site and sent in a request. But I do find their comment about enough people requesting service and they may have it by the end of year amazing. I've talked to TCI people at the local office and they know nothing at all about this, but of course they are only dealing with cable T.V. I cannot understand TCI making that comment. If they need response then why not send out a notice with your cable bill? They wasted no time at all sending me info on digital cable, perhaps they still just don't get it, maybe they will wake up and realize real soon that the net has exploded and people want high bandwidth. They are idiots! They could put the word out that cable is coming and the media would pick up on it. They have no one driving!

Thanks for the info

Derek
