Justa,

I believe that I might have quoted some Market $ estimates either last November or during 96 from a presentation Art gave to a bunch of NY based Semi Analysts. If I remember correctly, Art expected this market to grow to multiple $B and UTEK's share to exceed $500M. ... but I wouldn't swear to it.

I further believe that PGILD will sell for more than $10M each. I suspect that Art will be able to sell all that they can build / support during 1999 and beyond. I believe the SIA roadmap inclusion is a real coup given UTEK's current status re this tool.

I further believe that the key limiting factor will be UTEK's ability / willingness to support multiple tools in the field. Looking at the V2000 example, Art seems to be more focused on the successful launch of a new tool than just flooding the market with large numbers.

Personally, I think it's an appropriate strategy. It only takes one vociferous pi**ed off customer to destroy one's reputation. I'd rather see UTEK ensure success in the field before ramping up big time. Based upon what the Street did to CYMI for its CIP (continuous improvement program) initiative, I suspect that much of the big money also thinks that companies should just do it right the first time.

FWIW,
Ian.
