Monday July 27, 7:38 am Eastern Time Daimler, Nissan Make Truck Deal STUTTGART, Germany (AP) -- In another sign of consolidation in the global auto industry, Daimler (DAIR - news)-Benz AG and Nissan Diesel Motor Co. of Japan said Monday they would jointly build a light truck starting in 2002 as a first step toward a broader alliance. Nissan Motor (Nasdaq:NSANY - news), Japan's second-largest automaker, and Daimler, Germany's largest industrial group, said in May they were in talks on a possible alliance or joint venture. biz.yahoo.com
