Freon,

I think you're misunderstanding the concept of a customer, in this specific case. TSIG is purchasing the right to fulfill orders made via the MusicCard. If there are 1.5 million MusicCard holders, then that means TSIG has acquired the right to service orders placed by these people via the MusicCard. As part of this transaction, it is also reasonable to assume that CCI is giving TSIG any data that it possesses about these customers, for marketing purposes. These are among the assets and intellectual property that we can reasonably assume to be covered under the terms of the TSIG-CCI agreement.

As for the figures on new customers and retention rate, I'm not sure why we should doubt those numbers. CCI opened for business in 1993 and had 1.5 million customers in 1997. That's 1.5 million customers over 260 weeks: more than 5,700 customers per week. A slowdown could plausibly be attributable to the transition CCI is currently going through as it integrates with TSIG.

Also, despite how vocal a few "former dealers" have been on this thread, we're nowhere near the kind of numbers that would call a 90-percent retention rate into serious question. It would take 1,500 people just to make up 0.1 of 1 percent of the overall customer base.
