Easy for CPQ to mask how bad things were with the acquisition --- I put no confidence in their earnings as any indication for that reason.

Here's what we do know: IBM, if you take their numbers at face value, was saved by the growth in service revenues. Hardware sales were down. This quarter and last PC sales were a real drag for them -- that's a fact. HWP warned. Obviously HWP is not just PCs, but I think that's part of their story and other hardware purchases are reflective of the general trend. Now GTW has missed estimates after guiding the analysts down and after adjusting for seasonality.

There may still be pockets where growth is not slowing -- PCs ain't it.
