All,
This looks rather promising:

Under the code name "TERACOM," the technology called "revolutionary" by insiders has been described as "a complete and supported solution that provides the first real-time, point-to-multi-point interactive multimedia based communications capability." Simply put, users of TERACOM can, for the first time, create, distribute, and manage all of their information content and access a full range of significant communication services through a single technology. This includes the ability to employ virtually any media, such as audio, video, documents, graphics (still, 2D, 3D), animation, virtual reality, and more.
According to Grant Holcomb, Chief Technology Officer, "Until now, existing Digital Signal Process (DSP) solutions and video compression technologies could not achieve the performance required for integrating all media types in a seamless fashion in real-time. But now, with the breakthrough capability of the Video Stream technology, employed in concert with Motorola Semiconductor's Altivec technology, we have achieved a standard never before accomplished. That is, to have the ability to communicate in real-time, regardless of geographic location and the number of simultaneous users."
Through its relationship with Apple Computer and Motorola, Video Stream International will be shipping communication terminals as part of the TERACOM communication network solution. Each terminal will employ one to five Altivec based PowerPC microprocessors; the number based upon customer need.
