To all,

SUNNYVALE, Calif., Dec. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Verity, Inc. (Nasdaq: VRTY), a
leading provider of search and retrieval applications for the enterprise and
Internet, today announced that Amulet has selected Verity to develop an
innovative Internet-based service called InfoWizard. The service will
empower professionals with a fast and efficient way to gather and organize
comprehensive information from various online sources, saving them hours
searching publications, online databases, and the Web.
Using Verity's SEARCH'97 Developer's Kit to build InfoWizard's underlying
search engine will allow users to deploy agents to gather, filter and
organize information from hundreds of sources. InfoWizard will automatically
deliver the results right to the user's desktop in personalized, full-text
reports. InfoWizard, expected to debut in early 1997, is currently in
limited public trial and available to preview at www.infowizard.com.
"By giving professionals their own personalized search agent, InfoWizard
automates the costly and complex research process," said Dan Cerutti, CEO
and co-founder of Amulet. "We selected Verity because their unparalleled
search technology and open architecture complements our patented agent-based
technology."
"Amulet is bringing a revolutionary research service and we are very
excited that our SEARCH'97 platform was selected as a key component of their
forthcoming service," said Philippe Courtot, chairman and CEO of Verity.
"InfoWizard takes information collection and research to the next level by
allowing information-saturated professionals to spend more time analyzing
information instead of searching for it."
