Only a few and PPTV is certainly one of them. After recent share offering, the company has an extremely clean balance sheet and is in an industry that seems to have great long term prospects. Recent quarterly reports from PPTV, however, have not shown the kind of growth that small growth companies must achieve regularly to keep the institutions happy.

My view is that PPTV is being affected by the general slowdown in spending on new electronics manufacturing facilities. Once spending picks up, PPTV will report one or two quarters of strong revenue and earnings growth and the institutions will come flocking.

For an interesting case study take a look at the graph for INVX. Two or three months ago, INVX was trading around $20 - PE of 12. This was despite 30% annual earnings growth, large global market share, and an impeccable balance sheet. When INVX announced fiscal year results in November, management said business looked strong and earnings for next year were expected to be up another 30%. Institutions started buying and the share price has more than doubled to $47 1/2, on huge volumes, in a month.

Be patient with PPTV and trust your own analysis.
