Biotechs boomed again yesterday, posting a nice 1.4% gain which more than doubled their gain since Jan 1 (its now 2.2%). The move pushed the sector up to 143 from 150 (out of 197groups). Included in Nasdaq's Greatest % Rise in Volume were ALKS, BCHXF, ISIP, and ARRS. My favorite, LGND gained 209% on over 3/4 million shares, but a sale at the close trimmed its 3/8 point gain (minimum change required for the table) to a 1/4 point gain. Other Biotechs that were up at least a point during the day included AGPH, AIMM, ALKS, BCHXF, BGEN, BTGC, CEPH, CNTO, GENZ, HGSI, IPIC, ISIP, MYGN, NXCO, NXTR, SANG, SMTG, XOMA. Additional Biotechs that traded over 1/4 million shares but didn't have as dramatic point moves included ALLP, ALTN, CBMI, CTII, CYTO, LDAKA, LJPC, SOMA. |
