Sorry. This idea of a loyalty oath isn't going to work. The very con artists that you're trying to avoid will be among the first in line to answer no,no,no,no. Perhaps you've known that all along...

Because this quiz and the constant talk of conspiracies brings to mind an old scam pulled at carnivals. One of the gang yells "Watch out for the pickpockets". And the rest of the crew looks to see which pockets the soon-to-be victims will slap. If you want the contents of your wallet to stay within reach, it's best to avoid the OTC-BB market entirely. Otherwise, the chances are pretty good that you will eventually run right into arms of a penny hustler.

Any hidden agenda has nothing to do with short sellers or paid bashers. Instead, the master plan is a simple (and old-fashioned!) game of selling shares in worthless companies to novice investors. That is why it that the so-called bashers have become so important. They often provide us with the type of invaluable research that reveals what is hype. A "real" company should be willing to answer all the tough questions and show you (or any other would-be-shareholder) the bottom line.

It seems that the internet stock chat forum has created a new breed
of boiler room operators. And yet, most of these are nothing more than traditional
cold-calling penny scammers newly outfitted with a modem (but for some
reason, never a working shift key). Yahoo's recent rejection of
penny stock forums has sent them the signal that time is running out; So the
fleece-meisters seem to be working overtime to milk the gullible and the
greedy.

No reasonable or seasoned investor would believe all the spammed malarkey about the
short seller/paid-basher/market-maker/FBN/SI conspiracy. Neither do most of the
hypesters and shills who keep re-posting it.
However, the story serves as a
useful urban legend and provides a good smoke-screen for the getaway. After
all, for the con man, it is still a road show.
