Jim,

It has been my hope, for quite a while, that Apple will manage to leap frog RealNetworks in streaming audio and video. Rumors of advanced compression in QT 3.1, coupled with the DSP abilities of Altivec, suggest that this goal may now be within reach. The Video Stream Intl. piece is an indiction of this. Other comments have suggested that QT streaming video will not only surpass Real Audio/Video in performance, but will not require a special server, as the RealNetworks product does. If Apple can capture this market through Quicktime, it will be huge. I'm hoping Steve will shed some light on this at Seybold.

Regards,

Scott
