Jack G. DLee and Wayne J. all on one thread? Hmmm where there's smoke there must be a fire <g>

I had a long talk with the NYRR guys, did some "stealth" observation (with out their knowledge) of their operations on the Jersey side, and its no doubt these guys are have a good looking operation.
New York is a tough market to try and get freight around in. Judging from the rail maps and routes it looks like NYRR has one of the better ideas almost the only sensible working operation when it comes to rail freight in and out of Brooklyn.

New York City has plans to build a $7,000,000,000 tunnel for freight trains to get in and out of that area and Long Island. But all this has been planned for 20 years and they have yet to move on it, so this does not look like a threat to NYRR operations for a long time.

There is also an anti truck sentiment growing in the NYC area, due to all the congestion and pollution.

All this seems to add up to NYRR growing over the next few years, even with out a merger or all the other behind the scenes issues going on.

I always have kept Rail Road stock in my port, I sold off most of my IC stock, simply because NYRR looks like a better deal.

@.2X a share it looks like to much of a bargain to pass up on.
