GTE Media Ventures, a subsidiary of GTE Corp., has selected C - Cube 's AViA-based settops from Zenith for its new "GTE americast" all digital wireless video service. This is GTE's first foray into digital wireless video, and has recently launched the service in Honolulu. The Zenith settops, based on C - Cube AViA settop decoding and advanced graphics silicon, will enable the delivery of more than 150 channels of programming to subscribers. GTE has also named Divicom, a subsidiary of C - Cube as the encoder vendor for the service.
