Hey Net,,In a sense you could say that g.lite would be bad. I.E. aren't they (westell) in the modem biz?? Yes they are, but they are trying to be a transmission company. Supervision/Accessvision and the work with Lucents is an effort on wstl part to stay out of that really bloody end of the market.

If westell becomes a data tranmission company then g.lite becomes a big plus. The thought is that the consumer may pull the deployment faster than the RBOCs push deployment. Therefore, anyone providing central office and remote equipment would have a field day.

Right now g.lite is facing two issues. First, the powers to be have not settled on a standard. Second, the trade press seems to indicates that g.lite is having problems. Somehow that doesn't surprize me since everything involved with this stuff seems to that longer than expected.
