Matrox Cards

Charles,
Your answer may depend on ZeusPaul's review of the
current drivers for Win 98. To all, for the most part,
does Matrox do a pretty good job with quality drivers
and upgrading them? Or would the general 98 drivers made
my Microsoft be better ~ then using another brand of card?

AGP slot:
Matrox Productiva G100 230 ramdac 8mb SDRAM $60
Matrox Millenium G200 250 ramdac $130
Matrox Mystique G200 250 ramda $130

(still can't really determine the difference between
the G200 Millenium and Mystique. Which one is everyone buying?)

PCI slots:
Matrox Mystique 220 - 220 ramdac 4mb SGRAM $55

Of all the pci graphics cards, I like the Matrox 220 because
it has a high ramdac, lots of fast ram at a very cheap price!

The big question is if the drivers for Win98 are stable using
multimonitors.

ZeusPaul will probably get to his review in the next few days.
---------------
I've called Appian and Colorgraphics.
Appian's duet comes in AGP but it can't run with
any other graphics cards, not even other Appians.
They will be out with a 128 bit multimonitor card
near the end of the year and AGP cards. Expect to pay a premium.

Colorgraphics, only change is a $45 price reduction.

Both places acknowledged that Win 98 has taken a considerable
bite out of their sales.

Regards,
S.W.
