Scott your post indicates the above and this news item suggests the PowerPCs from
Motorola will be available to many customers, not just AAPL , different from
MacCentral's report of it today :


I got this from an interesting article at MacOS Daily, that mainly discussed Motorola's reversal on it's ridiculous anti-Mac posture.

An engineer with Motorola's Semiconductor Products Sector wrote to explain
why:

"I don't like the migration to NT," he said, "I will tell you this: the
PowerPC roadmap has changed and no longer will the Mac market be the
primary focus of the chips. You will see this chip be pushed more in the
automotive and networking applications directions as opposed to just making
faster and faster Macs. The reason: the potential of this architecture is
too great to limit it solely to the desktop market, and Motorola knows
that. There are 3 main cores that will be focused upon, and PowerPC is one
of them.
