Don't know the reason behind the sell off today, but I was browsing through the Charlotte Observer this evening and found a little article with Bob Gruder's name in it and thought I would share it with the thread (and get post #7000 also ). This was in the Insider section of Business Monday:

Bob Gruder, the Chairman of Charlotte computer services firm Alydaar Software, has been on the road a lot lately, too, shopping for potential acquisitions. "Big shopping trips," says Gruder, who won't name any of the companies he is eyeing.

Alydaar wants to buy other technology services firms, software developers or government contractors so it can expand beyond its current Year 2000 services business. Gruder says that strategy will help the company keep growing once Year 2000 work runs out in a few years.

Meanwhile, thanks to a bit of private acquisition and development, Gruder has a comfortable new weekend home on Lake Norman to return to after all those trips.

The 39-year-old Charlotte resident recently built the home on a spit of land off Bethel Church Road in Cornelius.

"It's magnificent," Insider hears from one nearby resident who has seen it. "It's made of stone and has cedar shakes. What's really striking is that as the sun is setting and you're approaching the front of the house, the sun shines right through it."

Can't blame him for wanting some of the good things in life. I'm sure I'd do the same thing if I were in his shoes. Hey, Bob, let us Alydaar supporters know when your having the next weekend bash at the lake. Sure has been a long hot summer!
