Mark, have you ever been involved in "an off the shelf software solution" or conversion for a buisness. I have and I can tell you it takes a couple of years. Ask anyone who is converting to SAP. I think some of what you are saying makes good sense. I don't think businesses will change their software as it takes alot of training and IT resources and it takes project managers and facilitators etc. Most software packages don't exactly fit a particular business so there are either giveups or costly changes to the code. I don't think you have the right scenario in this case. Look ar Oracle's earnings. They will fall off and I believe are falling off becasue there isn't time to convert before Y2K. Even Oracle says so in their adds and I don't believe it is hype.
