Greetings DLL, Steve and all who love the Lord Jesus Christ. Thank you for your thought provoking questions DLL. I will attempt to answer your questions in the order they were submitted; 1. Dan 9:11, I believe that Daniel was referring not to only the tribe of Judah, but ALL of Israel as they ALL had sinned and broken the Sinaitic Covenant, thus bringing the curse of the Law upon themselves. Daniels use of the words " they " and " us " are referring to ALL Israel as He previously mentioned the different tribes within ALL Israel( Dan.9:7 ) 2. Psalm,40:6, I paraphrased in my own words what David was saying to God, that there was no provision but death for these types of sin. I believe Psalm 32:1-11,and Psalm 51:1-19 ( noting verse 16 ) are excellent in showing us how David reached into the New Covenant to provide for his total forgiveness and reconciliation to God. I would encourage you to read them both and meditate on them. 3. Psalm 40:7, Yes , I believe it is the pre-incarnate Jesus speaking here. Please refer to Hebrews 10:5-10 to validate this statement. 4. Psalm 40:15, Yes, I believe He was according to 1Sam. 16:13. DLL, Do you think it was harsh of David to pray according to verses 14-15?. 5. The HOLY ONE OF ISRAEL is Almighty God. Please refer to ISA. 41:14, 41:16, 43:3, 43:14 48:17, 49:7 and 54:5. I did not respond to Psalm 46 as this was my typing error. Well Brethren, I believe all the questions have been addressed and trust that the answers honour the Word of God. I will wait till I hear back from you DLL with any further questions before we proceed. Can I suggest we read 2 Sam. 7:1-29 to help us in this study. I am glad that we are taking our time as there is so much manna in the Word of God. May you Father be glorified in your Son as we sit at your feet in adoration and love, for who you are, and what you have freely done for us. Grace and peace to all the brethren. Robert |
