I have every Zone on tape. There was another show on when I was a kid that had a tremendous effect on me. I have never seen it since, and have always wondered if it will ever be re-released. I even wonder if it is really lame now, since I am grown up. It was a weekly show called "Science Fiction Theater", and the host, if memory serves, was a fellow named Truman Bradley. It predates The Twilight Zone, and it was really, really scary. Also, there was a show around that same time called, I believe, "Alfred Hitchcock Presents" that had some really good sci-fi on it. When I was a kid in the 50s, sci-fi was a fringe/freak kind of thing. Rod Serling brought a lot of integrity to it.
Alternate universes as a vehicle for a story... they are great, (like the Star Trek TNG episode that had hundreds of Enterprises all caught in the same "time/space", and the Klingons were winning) and I enjoy the concept, but as far as reality goes, I can't really get behind it.
I need to find a physics professor that thinks FTL might be possible. Or maybe, I need a really smart kid that watches Twilight Zone reruns!
I enjoy your posts, Jay, and thank you.
Sincerely,
