The details:
Under terms of the deal, GTE's shareholders will get 1.22 Bell Atlantic shares for each GTE share.
Based on Bell Atlantic's closing price of $45 Monday, that works out to $54.90 for each share of GTE.
GTE's shares closed Monday at $55.75, down 2 3/16. Bell Atlantic shareholders are expected to hold
57 percent of the merged company, said a person close to the deal.
