Actually, just last Thursday Microsoft announced that their new portal site, which merges their four biggest sites into one, would take effect Oct. 7th: cbs.marketwatch.com I posed the question on the Yahoo thread in re the effect of this on Yahoo's hit rates. Not surprisingly, there was a deafening silence.
