I have what is the $24 million dollar question. After reading all 1,059 posts on this thread and all of the posts on the MB Trading thread, and lots of other threads I have a question for all of you successful traders out there. What would you consider to be reasonable account size to start with and what is a reasonable annual return to expect? I have not seen this question answered anywhere on SI - I apologize if I missed it on some other thread. Everybody is talking about their computers and so on ... I'm beginning to wonder if anybody really makes any money at day trading or do they just do it for the fun and excitement. I have been a very successful investor and multi-day/week swing trader, but I have always felt that if I had more time I could do much better at it. I now have that extra time and want to give it a shot. I am thinking of starting with $100k but if I can only realistically expect to make 20%, then I'll have to increase the account size dramatically. Thanks for any and all responses.
