MB/Cyber comparison...

I put these thoughts together as a response to a private message but thought it would be useful to post here too:

Like many, I too narrowed my search down to MB and Cyber - I went with MB finally because I had heard so many good things; nothing negative and also because RealTick seemed to be a defacto standard.

In April, Cyber didn't have color coded (green/white/red) sales/times print streams attached to the MM window - which for me is absolutely essential. I don't know if Cyber has this now - but in any case, they are playing catch-up in many respects with MB/RT3.

Cyber is trying to do too much by doing the software AND trying to run a brokerage - I like the fact that MB is separate from RT is separate from Terra Nova (ARCHIP/TNTO ECN)and finally South West (clearing house). MB hasn't bitten off more than they can chew which is the impression I get with Cyber.

In summary, I see MB as head and shoulders over Cyber in the race for market share and in performance and public image. Cyber is doing a very poor job with its PR and 1-1=0 so soon I expect them to fizzle and die. They are simply making too many mistakes and they don't seem to have any sense of business maturity and acumen. They seem to behave very amateurishly.

Needless to say I chose MB and I'm very, very happy.

All the best
