compaq had a dif name incorporated for it's design yr in 1982.
I cannot remember the exact date. but when i was interviewing with the CFO it was GATEWAY then I come on board in Feb 83 and it had changed to Compaq.
God gave me a dream to work for Compaq and at that time told me that Compaq would be a great company and it would help fund the gospel.
Compaq has a strong christian underground.
Before work and during lunch there are prayer and bible studies all over the campus.
Not uncommon to cast demons out of someone in the parking lot and
have powerful prayer lunches. Some of the prayer lunches are just like the Book of Acts 2:4...powerful movements of the Holy Spirit.
And, of course take up collection for someone in need.
One time during the first of 1984 and big announcements and goals set for the quarter, our Hp3000's just quit working and we didn't know why. At that time if you logged 45-50 people on HP-3000 they shut down. Anyway, after all day of figuring out what was wrong and HP trying to help with all the on site support they could . The Computer Operations mgr. and I just went into the computer room and laid hands on the computer and asked God for a miracle. They all of a sudden just starting working.
We never did figure out why they quit or why they started again.
Most of us never hesitated to ask for a miracle if Cpq needed it.
