Quietly, there was an announcement that is full of good news. S&P upgraded ALL of GTE's debt and preferred securities. Most went to an A- rating. The report sites the increased number of access lines, as well as the inroads GTE has made in foreign markets (Mexico??). Good news. This will keep this stock at a solid 15%er every year, including dividends. You gotta love it for the conservative portion of your portfolio. Mark
