The following is an Email I recently wrote to ETrade. I hope all will find it constructive rather than a flame, as I sincerely did not intend it as a flame. Maybe if they hear from enough of us on these issues, they will some day take heed. I will post the reply from them, if I get one.
I recently signed up via my ETrade account for real time quotes. Today included, there has been 5 days so far this month (my first month) that I was unable to access quotes via your Internet system to retrieve quotes. Today, I was unable to even access my account information. I use ETrade and signed up for your service to use over the Internet and not via phone services, as I have been recommended to use in times when the Internet is not accessible, which lately is on a daily basis (which is also at times inaccessible in a timely manner, when the Internet is inaccessible)
What are you doing to fix this service? How do I adjust my fees I pay to you for Real Time Quotes that I have no access to? When will I be able to use your service and have confidence that I can depend on availability? When will your WEB pages be updated so I do not have to access multiple pages to obtain a variety of information that other services provide on one page: ie. portfolio does not show current up or down on price, dollar gain on investment and other information that is important to my portfolio. Instead, I have to access another page ,through your extremely slow system to gain that information. I then have to access another page to get quotes to find out the current day's high and low. When retrieving mail from your message service, one page has to be accessed for each mail message sent to me and then to ad salt to the wound of slowness, I have to wait for another page just to tell me that I have no more messages. Then I am off to Portfolio, Quotes, Watch, to monitor my positions (did I mention what little the Positions page tells me about my overall portfolio?) As you should know, I could go on. All this page swapping takes server time, hits, and bandwidth from your system (as well as mine) and only makes an already inherent problem worse. I previously wrote about this problem and included the following (see below, which I received no reply), please let me know at least if your fixing the problem and when I can expect to access your service in a timely and orderly manner, otherwise I will have no other choice than to switch brokers, which maybe, if enough of us did, that would be a help to your over-crowded system. I do not have the slowness and inaccessibility problems at any other sites via the Internet, so the problem is most obviously at your end. I just ask that you fess up so I can either work with you and hope for a brighter future of doing business with you. I am looking for answers and a service with them. |
