Andy, SKB was going to have a tough time in any market with a DTaP vaccine that was rejected by the FDA Advisory Committee for the 4th and 5th dose because their trial data showed side effects to be cumulative and thus by the fourth and fifth shots was very unsafe. I would think Chiron will own the German market with NVX's DTaP vaccine. They will surely own it with DTaP-IPV in '98. This Chiron agreement is more than just an endorsement of NVX's vaccines. It is also a strong vote of confidence that Chiron feels pretty darn certain that NVX will get FDA approval very soon. NVX does indeed now have THREE (3) major alliances with major drug companies,(Connaught,Abbott, and Chiron ) thanks to their lead in developing advanced vaccines. I would think there are many more to come . I would assume that they are having many opportunities to enter into alliances with their Strep B vaccine. :-) Re todays opening, I am told that at least one "big short" was covering on the opening this morning and that is what drove it up 2 points on about 80,0000 shares and caused the delay in the opening. Since than it has settled back and the volume dried up.What is your source telling you?
