A word about Calculated Risk . . .
First, my credentials. I have been a long of TAVA from 5 1/2 having bought all the way up to 12. As the stock has been moving down, I have scaled out of 1/2 my position. I have been a giant fan of TAVA and because of my enthusiasm about 15 friends, colleagues, etc. are in the stock. I am invested mentally big time in TAVA and it hurts like hell to see it sink like a stone. But you know, it's a simple truth, the shorts were right, at least over this recent stomach-churning period.
I first ran across Calculated Risk on the ACLY thread. I was bullish, he was short and he got me thinking. He made excellent points, i went back and rethought and sold out my position at 21 for a 25% gain. As you know, the stock went on to DIE. It's really simple. He was right. The longs were wrong. Period. So I can't talk about motives but I can talk about results and so far, as far as I can tell, he has been right on the money.
Best to all,
