I am new on SI and have read with a great deal of interest and learned from your posts...

While I don't disagree with yr assessment about the Lewinsky's testimony factor, I think the impact will be very short term. This thing is still going to drag out with more appeals. It will come to some form of closure, but later rather than sooner. In the end, it's still going to come down to "he said, she said".... and Mr. Bill is still going to be around serving out his term so there will be no perceived lack of leadership. As far as uncertainty, we have been in this mode for 6 months now so I think the market has fully discounted it. What we need is some good, positive news. Unfortunately, Japan news is the same old thing (par for the course). BTW, why don't we come to accept Japan for what it is, their reluctance to change the way the world wants it to. Or at least, get used to the snail pace. It's just not going to happen even in a reasonable time span.
