PC 99 spells the end of two familiar technologies -- CD-ROM and the Industry Standard Architecture (ISA) bus. The spec is co-authored by Microsoft and Intel, but has been reviewed by more than 200 independent hardware vendors. ... The CPU speed is not confined to Intel chips.
