I will take shot, Carriers need to build WAN, which is reliable and be able to provide Quality-of- service, Service level agreements, sophisticated network management and billing systems so they can make money off of these networks. LAN is important but it can be build at the level of the end users which can be the companies. I think LAN would ultimately become a commodity.
