Chat CD, USW-FRO-CSN, AOL,YHOO, TG, CBS, LUV:-
CD- Cendant, just announced that Forbes, the CEO of CUC, resigned from CD. He was scheduled to become the new CEO of CD in 2000; also most the the board members who came from CUC also resigned. Expect CD to rocket tomorrow. CUC is the cause of the problem at CD, and assuming that Silverman now has full control of the company, expect market sentiment to become positive on this stock very quickly.
USW (US West), FRO (Frontier) and CSN (Cincinnati Bell) are three islands in the seas of telephone consolidation in the US. USW and BLS, Bellsouth, are the only remaining original Baby Bells that have not combined. I would not be surprised to see BLS acquire USW. FRO -excellent long distance and wireless co, some regional phone custormers, - someone will buy them too. CSN - Same as FRO, stock is cheap.
AOL- I've been flipping AOL in personal acct. Stock seems to bottom, then move up 2-5 points. I may get burnt at some point, but so far so good. bot at 115 3/8 on Monday, sold at 119 1/2 today, bot back at 115 1/2, and am now holding at a small loss. got greedy.
YHOO- will split 2:1 on Monday, 8/3. If ones buys the stock on FRiday, will get the split on monday. only those with LARGE B*lls and Oves need apply.
TG- Don't know whats going on with TG, still like the stock, am content to ride it out.
CBS - acting very good, holding
LUV- Southwest Air - announced good bookings for 3rd Q, 3:2 stock split, and boost in divident. Airlines is strong sector right now. good hold or buy. |
