Johnathan,

Bear with me, I'm not a tech type. They state that by the turn of the century, chipmakers will have wrestle with increasingly "thorny" problems:

1. Economics - Chip plants expected to cost $10 Bil (more than a nuclear power plant)
2. Ever more complex chips will be difficult (read expensive) to design and test (they site 1994 Pentium bug)
3. Quantum dilemma - They say that by 2010, features should be .07 microns, and that at that size electrons arn't predictable

They make other points, I hope someone can post the ULR for the article.

Not endorsing their conclusions, in fact I felt the article was poorly written, but am curious as to opinions.

Thanks,

John
