Jim: the small-cap scene is really fishy. There's a well-defined S&P smallcap index- people can buy the index, it's liquid- but nobody is buying it- and just who are these "foreign investors" buying the big caps- where are they from? Are they offshore hedge funds playing index arbitrage on the Dow and S&P indexes? Hmmm....
I have a nice collection of small companies at book value, with dividends higher than a treasury, and growing sales and earnings, and they went down today. Hmmm...:-( .
