Having said that, I think Apple is in significantly better shape than Novell. Apple has found its own niche, and with the iMac has a good opportunity on atacking a segment of the market who does not care much about the difference between Windows and Apple as long as they are similar enough.

Right on. For once, I am feeling that it's Novell in the worse position as well (and not apple for a change). I don't think it's limited to just them, Netscape and Real Networks are 2 examples off the top of my head.

Let's all pray the iMac's sales are blown out of the water. If not, I think we're screwed. If true, we all reap some hefty rewards.
