FastComm Communications Corporate Profile
FastComm was the very first to introduce a dial-up, asynchronous, 9600 bps modem in the early 1980s, and in September of 1989 launched the FDX family of V.32 modems. Under the direction of President and CEO Peter C. Madsen (previously president of Newbridge Networks, Inc.), FastComm has successfully moved into leading edge technologies to produce the most flexible and cost effective network access solutions using Frame Relay and ATM.
In addition to Frame Relay Access Devices (FRADs), routers, and ATM Access Devices, FastComm also manufactures CSU/DSU products, a family of high speed data compression equipment, and a cost effective async data switch for management of remote devices over a single dial-up connection.
One of the foundations in FastComm's strategy is the support of international standards and "open systems" solutions, including RFC-1490 which enables interoperability of Frame Relay equipment such as FRADs and routers. FastComm promotes the development and deployment of multi-vendor standards through participation in organizations such as the Frame Relay Forum and the ATM forum.
It is FastComm's goal to provide networking customers with the highest value and price/performance available. Ease of installation and remote management via SNMP and Telnet is a hallmark of FastComm products -- FastComm products are the easiest to install and maintain in the industry, bar none.
FastComm is headquartered in Sterling, Virginia, a suburb of Washington, DC., USA. The company maintains sales offices across the US, and has recently opened offices in, Australia, Frankfurt, Seoul and Miami in order to expand globally.
FastComm is a public company since 1988 and trades on the OTC BB under the symbol FSCX. |
