Let's not get overdramatic about iMac sales.

I think the iMac is a great product and I'm confident iMac sales will do well but AAPL's got many more irons in the fire.
Lots of us -- Hell, all of us! -- formed their investment opinions about Apple before we ever knew what an iMac was!

At this point I don't think it's up to us. The iMac has gotten so much press that I think people outside of aapl are really going to give aapl the credit if it sells (and we'll be on a roll) or it'll be back to all the negative "i told you so" in the press if it doesn't sell. Let's not forget how much the press likes to be negative on aapl. A fumble on the iMac could really hurt. Really-aapl has been talking SO MUCH about the iMac that it really isn't my opinion-it's clear that aapl is basing it's growth and proving it's comeback on the iMac.

If we shouldn't be getting worked up about iMac sales, you'd never be able to tell it from the way apple is acting. FWIW, I think this is good. They need to put the hype machine in full gear for this puppy and I think it just might work! :)
