I could see VRSN being acquired by IBM, as well as NETA, NSCP, SUNW and MSFT. I think the most likely is NETA -- gives them a new revenue stream in digital security. IBM was most likely but then they did a deal w/ Equifax and are now competitors to VRSN. NSCP and VRSN seem quite cozy (see today's pr) and a purchase could bolster NSCP's server offerings. SUNW is a possibility, b/c of SUNW's server and enterprise presence. Regardless, I don't think VRSN is a takeover play necessarily, b/c, as mentioned before -- it's allure to many is its independence -- Scott.
