You know, I used to think you were part of the best and smartest posters on this thread, untill recently. You have this amazing talent of sticking your foot in your mouth voluntairly.
The above statment, is the dumbest thing I EVER heared. WHAT PERJURY? STARR's INVESTIGATION WAS ABOUT WHITEWATER, WHEY IS HE INVESTIGATING CLINTON'S ZIPPER? Since when did imposing morals on the president become Starr's priority? Especially when you consider that Starr represented the tobbaco firms (and we all know how much they love Clinton,) and had them raise their right hand and swear that necotine is not addictive.
This whole investigation wreaks! They've been after Clinton since day one, their mission is to embarass and stain Clinton's presidency at all costs. And Clinton's ability to stick to the issues and outmanuveur the smartest Republican alive has only added fuel to the fire. They can't beat the man in politics so they revert to his personal life.
Isn't that what kids do in grade school?
I have to disagree with the Supreme court, the President can not be sued. Although he is not above the law, however, any action taken towards him legally can be motivated by politics. A case in point is Paula Jones. If she was so worried about her reputation, how come her pictures were on Penthouse?
We are approaching the end of the century, technology is breaking new grounds, the economy is booming, the country is facing new challenges and oppurtunities and yet, here we are forced to hear this Lewinsky thingie everyday. What a shame!!!
There is no clear winner in all of this. Just like when the Democrats were all for this independent cousel law only to get burned by it, the Republicans have doomed any future president from their party for the scrutiny will be intense from the opposite side.
No matter which way you look at, the office of the Presidency will never be the same, and you can thank Ken Starr for it.
