If you have time to read this.....

In Latin America, (and in all probability in any Latin Country), a guy like Clinton would have been made a hero, not for what he has done in his sex escapades, (that is a given and not even worth of making the news), but for his incredible endurance at the attacks of the rabid dogs of the Christian right.

Quite frankly I am no supporter of Clinton, in my eyes he leans towards being a Communist, (or perhaps his wife who unduly influences him, without her having been elected to power).

Luckily, however, he is a master politician, the best I have seen, and the strange thing has been that because of the attempts by the extreme right to establish their irrational agenda and policies, Clinton has been like "The Equalizer" of sorts.... in other words, so far it has been a near perfect combination tempering the wild dogs of either side.... quite strange, (and I am sure), unintended result of his presidency.

By that I mean, there has been (at least on paper), a serious attempt to balance the budget and act more conservatively in fiscal terms, and a serious control of the equally rabid extreme left.

At the same time Clinton has spared us from the Christian extremist, although I do not know for how much longer.....

In any event all these are small talk rubbish, my real thoughts about politicians go along these lines:

"The typical lawmaker of today is a man devoid of principle--a mere counter in a grotesque and knavish game. If the right pressure could be applied to him he would be cheerfully in favor of polygamy, astrology, or cannibalism."

The above applies to Democrats, Republicans alike, in fact to all politicians.

Have a good trip.
