To All, My index puts are starting to work out, but I am not happy with them. The Airline Index (XAL) and the Internet Index (IIX) have both fallen a lot in recent weeks, after an initial round of torture when I first put on the positions. However, I have not made very much money on fairly precipitous drops. This has to do with the fact that the puts were expensive to begin with and lose time premium rapidly as they move into the money, which is the case with all equity puts. However, this is more true of indices than it is of individual stocks.

This is not a big complaint. They are going my way, but I haven't entered the Forbes 400 with them. -g- I am reminded of why I usually avoid index options and usually stick with individual issues. More bang for the buck.
