It seems like hopes are building for an announcement of some sort of $196 billion/25 year settlement with the states. The stock was up sharply today, further narrowing my chances of buying more on the down-low. However, if this settlement falls through, I would imagine that MO will again turn and head lower. The technicals have been misleading in the past with MO over the last year, signs of strengthening have been completely wiped out by immediate dramatic drop-offs.

I was looking at some options today, but my order failed to trigger. See, I am not wholly convinced that this rally will last. I wish I were, but I'm not. Besides, I kind of like MO low as it presents an excellent buying opportunity since I do not plan on selling for many moons. Regardless, a settlement would be nice, but I am cautious about believing the hype, as we have been down this road before.

best of luck,

geoff
