Actually, I can help you out on your LOTUS question. The 'seats sold' went way up when IBM bought them and placed it's distribution muscle in the enterprise behind Notes. As for IBM buying Gateway, they could easily do it if they wanted to, they do need SOMETHING to jumpstart their PC business. Right now they are way too slow and just replaced the top guy in the PC division. They only recently came out with a 400mhz consumer Aptiva, the delay is reminiscent of their misreading of the sub 1k market. Their new top guy has stated they want to go after share though. Fact is, in regard to IBM the street does not really care about what they are doing in the PC business, look at the stock price to confirm that....

PS - As a matter of fact, the Street apparently does not care much about IBM's hardware business in it's entirety, it has not been growing for years. Services, though, are growing like gangbusters and are about 1/3 company revenues now... That is the piece that CPQ is going after with it's DEC purchase...
