I don't know George, you're probably right. The Merck's of the world will just continue to buy out the bio start ups when they finally hit pay dirt. Look at Somatogen, small investors paid for 12 years and hundreds of millions of dollars of R&D only to have Baxter step in and buy the whole shebang. I guess the officers, directors and top scientists did well, but the average guy that was paying the bills got screwed royally! IMHO one day in the not too distant future the small investor will wake up to this game and then the big boys will have to sink billions into their own R&D.
At least with XOMA if I never make a dime I'll have the personal satisfaction of knowing that I contributed something to a drug that may have the power to eradicate an incredible amount of heartache and misery.
