"Remember, these verses came directly out of Jeremiah 31:31-34. So now me must step aside from our discussion in Hebrews and discuss the verses in Jeremiah 31. It is imperative, as your opinion states that these verses are completely fulfilled. And they originate from Jeremiah 31. And you also state that the Old Testament has been completely fulfilled, Hence, Jeremiah 31 must be completely fulfilled!"
Hi again, Steve, your opinion states that these verses are completely fulfilled. It's not my opinion Steve, but the opinion of God delivered in the epistles to the Hebrews. The entire epistle to the Hebrews is meant to show that the Jesus Christ has established the new covenant through his Crucifixion and Resurrection and the consequently baptizing of the Holy Spirit. The eithth ch. of Hebrews starts the summation of the previous chapters..."Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum.."(Heb. 8:1) In his summation in chpts. 8, 9 and 10, the Holy Spirit tells us that the new covenant is established and the old "vanishes away" and is removed.
Heb. 8 10: For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:(This is the fulfillment of Jer.31) 11: And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.(We can sow the Word but only the Holy Spirit can teach people about God by writing his laws on their hearts--Born Again.) 12: For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more. 13: In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.
Heb. 9: Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second. 10: By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
Jesus took away or destroyed the first that he could establish the new covenant. (DLL, did you noticed how we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. You should ask your messianic Rabbi why he teaches you to pray the canned prayer you posted that says "you are sanctified by the commandments." That is serious error.)
May all the children of the new covenant be transformed by the renewing of our minds and not conformed to the principles and doctrine of this world.
Love in Christ
