Not that any of this is on-topic for CMGI... ... but do you really, truly believe that Greenspan manipulates the market for political purposes? You think he sits down and says, "You know, I feel like pulling the market back this week."?? Assuming that you believe that whopper, do you think he'd do it to help a Democratic president, given that he was initially appointed by a free-market Republican?? Sure, his thinking and comments move markets -- too readily, perhaps. But the idea that this man maniuplates markets is laughable. If he's so omnipotent, why have markets ROARED right past his infamous "irrational exuberance" comments in Dec. 96 (a few thousand Dow points ago!) Stay away from the X-Files, man. You've got too much Scully and Mulder on the brain...
