Sorry Joe, don't have time to follow OAKT. Just looked at their earning report. As predicted, no surprise on either side. CD-ROM market share is declining, CD-RW and image processing continues to grow. To be honest, I am very happy to see that OAKT has 2/3 of CDRW market share. Even better to see Mitsumi remains on the list! This means OAKT still has the leadership in optical market and has a good chance to keep it place in Mitsumi's DVD-ROM. Just hope history repeat and next year OAKT will be in most Dell, GW2k, HP, IBM and Compaq.

At end of FY98, bookvalue decreased slightly to $5.80. At $3.25 per share, I think OAKT is very very cheap. Although I have no immediate plan to buy more but it is a great chance to start a position. At current price, I wouldn't surprise a bid from Cirrus Logic and Adaptec.

There are still few concerns remain: 1) the lawsuit. 2) Can OAKT secure the deal with Mitsumi and Philips in the threat of Cirrus Logic? 3) Will HP keep using Pixel Magic's DSP in new image product? I guess we won't be able to find the answer in current or next quarter as all chip-makers are suffering from the flu.

Good Luck
