Hi Marc,

I remember that Abbott bought a vaccine syringe company last year. On the one hand its' a positive that they value the pre-fill concept. While looking at Abbotts' home page I noticed mention of the companys' new pediatric vaccine department; that's another positive.

ABBOTT TO ACQUIRE CERTAIN PARENTERAL PRODUCTS BUSINESSES OF
SANOFI

Abbott Park, Illinois, April 29, 1997 - Abbott Laboratories today announced it has signed a definitive
agreement to acquire certain parenteral products businesses of Sanofi Pharmaceuticals, Inc. The
purchase price is approximately $200 million.

The acquisition will provide Abbott with worldwide rights to pre-filled, single-dose syringe technology
with Sanofi's proprietary Carpujectr drug delivery system. In addition, Abbott will obtain a range of
multi-source injectable drugs, contract manufactured injectable products and agreements with various
third parties, a production and research and development facility in McPherson, Kansas, and
intellectual properties related to the business.

The Carpuject system and the multi-source injectable drugs complement Abbott's existing line of
FirstChoicer generic injectables, and its drug delivery systems. "With this acquisition, Abbott will be
able to provide a more complete line of injectable products to its customers worldwide," said Thomas
R. Hodgson, president and chief operating officer.

BJCT lost it's momentum today hey?

best,art
