I don't think that this has been their past strategy.>> I'm very sorry. I have a tendency to work in fast forward. I should have made my arguments clear rather than just citing the evidence. Creative currently has two main offerings of Graphics Blaster Exxtreme and 3D blaster. A notable eyebrow raiser is that the rendition V1000 card (2d/3d) is under the 3D blaster category along with Voodoo2. In other words it wouldn't be outlandish to expect Banshee to have a seat right next to Voodoo2 in the 3D blaster arena. More importantly is the point I was trying to make in my previous post. It would appear the the individual in the interview is indeed pointing in the direction of Creative. Creative does have the #1 DVD drive after all. In addition, I would like to point out that TNT does not offer hardware DVD support like the Banshee. The previous Blaster Exxtreme offerings (Permidia 2) were going to offer a daughter card starting early this summer. (Coincidence?) Now Permidia 2 has been canned. This would appear to leave a void begging to be filled. Besides, if you look at the DXR2 reviews, the main complaint seems to be the use of a video passthrough cable. A daughter card would eliminate this. Creative currently offers the following chips: Voodoo2 Permidia2 Cirrus Logic Laguna Rendition Vertite 1000 The last two are rather old and I don't even know if they are shipping, but the point is that creative is by no means limited to one chip. With TNT not offering hardware DVD, it's likely we'll see something else even if it isn't Banshee. Final Note: Jeff could you ask those questions about advertising? Message 5315709 Pat
